About Font Snap

Font Snap is a font identifier app and a small library of typography guides for designers, creators and anyone who has wondered “what font is this?”.

Who makes it

Font Snap is built and maintained by Andy JD, an independent software developer.

On Google Play the app is published under the developer name PolygonFleet.

What the app does

You photograph lettering or pick a screenshot, and the app uses AI to identify the most likely typefaces, with details such as designer, foundry, release year and license.

Results are best guesses. Hand lettering, custom logos and heavily styled text may only have close matches, and you should confirm a font’s license with its publisher before commercial use.

How the guides are made

Each guide is drafted with AI assistance, then reviewed and edited by Andy JD before it is published. Where a guide relies on an outside source, it links to that source in the text.

A guide's "Updated" date changes when its content changes in a meaningful way, not for small wording edits.
